Friday Night Teaching Outside the Box Kickoff!
Start the conference off right by attending an evening of fun and education at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder! Connect with old friends and meet some new while enjoying food and drinks at this fabulous site. You will not want to miss our featured presentation "Twisters, Chasers, and Thunderstorms: A Half-Century of Severe Weather Science" by UCAR writer/editor/media relations associate Bob Henson. Over Bob's 20 year career he has covered a wide range of research and related activities conducted by NCAR, UOP, and UCAR's members and affiliates and has a wealth of knowledge to share. Following the talk be sure to explore the Visualization Lab, tour the facility, visit booths manned by NCAR scientists, and more. Prepare to be fascinated! (FREE for those registered for the full weekend or Saturday only. Guest tickets are available for $10. This evening counts as 2 hours towards teacher recertification).
