Becoming a Certified Environmental Educator
What makes a quality environmental educator?
In 2005, a diverse committee worked to develop the Guidelines for Environmental Educators in Colorado to answer that question.
This foundation helped us build an active certification process that sets specific standards of knowledge, skills, and experience that highly qualified environmental educators should be able to demonstrate.
A Certification Program will:
- Encourage quality environmental education and professional growth
- Build support and respect for the field
- Break down misconceptions about environmental education
- Meet the needs of a diverse field
