We've designed this pilot program to test the practical application of the Certification Program. 

Who can participate?

You!  The pilot is open to any educator who wants to develop a portfolio.  We're seeking participants from all backgrounds - formal, nonformal, full-time, part-time, career educators, etc.

It's Free!

You could be one of the first certified environmental educators in Colorado for free! We really need your help in the pilot, so as a benefit will waive all fees associated with certification.   All relevant portions of your application will be accepted when the certification program is finalized after the pilot. 

What do I need to do?

1. Tell us you're interested.  Fill out this application in word or download in pdf format (remember it is free - so no fees) and email it to CAEE. DEADLINE: May 15, 2008

2. Pre-Application -  As part of the application, fill out the attached Pre-Assessment (word or pdf) form.  Email your pre-application, Pre-Assessment, and resume to CAEE. Deadline: May 30, 2008

   Tip: you may want to download the competencies, rubrics, and suggested responses as context for the self-assessment.

3. OPTIONAL training – If you want to become more familiar with the process and competencies, participate in one of these optional trainings that will focus on an overview of the process:

   June 11 – 11:30am-1:00pm

   June 16 – 3:30pm-5:00pm
   

4. These trainings will be phone/web based.  You will call an 800# and we’ll guide you through the process online.  To participate you need a phone and an internet connection.  If you’d like to participate, please register by emailing CAEEmailto:info@caee.org with the date of the training.

5. Final application - Send in your final application including another application form, your portfolio, and code of ethics form.  This is the heart of the process, start on your portfolio as soon as possible.  Deadline: September 1, 2008
