What Colorado and CAEE is doing to promote Environmental Literacy today.

How can we build support for Environmental Education and Environmental Literacy in Colorado?

We all have a role in Environmental Literacy in Colorado.  Follow the links below to find out more about how to get involved.

Building an Environmental Literacy Plan

CAEE is currently helping to draft an Environmental Literacy Plan for Colorado.  This plan will set a framework for the environmental education community to reach the potential of everyone in Colorado learning about the environment where we live.  We need your input!  Post your comments on the new wiki at http://eeforeveryone.wetpaint.com/.

Promoting Environmental Literacy through Legislation

CAEE is involved in developing Colorado legislation that will engage the state in a coordinated strategy to improve environmental literacy. CAEE encourages members to support the Colorado legislation by joining the Coalition to Advance Environmental Literacy in Colorado which is a coalition organized in partnership with the National Wildlife Federation.  By joining the coalition, you and your organization can play a vital role in passing legislation that supports and funds EE in Colorado.  Please help us show Colorado leaders that there is broad support for learning about the environment where we live.

Advancing Natural Resource and Environmental Education in Our Schools

Join CAEE and other leaders in natural resources, public health, the environment, and education to help shape and support a K-12 standards recommendation for natural resources and environmental education.  Click here to learn more about state standards.

Joining the Communications and Outreach Committee

The Communications and Outreach Committee is working on several projects to support the environmental education profession.  Please join us or feel free to send comments to email or call 303-273-9527.
